The old mill, built in the 16th century and owned by count Pálfy of Červený Kameň (Red Stone), offers a fairy tale atmosphere. Current owners - the Demovič family - have rebuilt the old mill and now successfully produce authentic wines with the taste of terroir. While enjoying a roast duck the owners will liven up the atmosphere with stories about wine and they may even add some stories about the mill... or about water goblins...Ancestors and traditions...
This small family winery keeps the 100 year tradition of their ancestors alive. One of them was even a viticultural "pereg" - a reeve of a vineyard. With respect to original values the winery produces authentic wines from its own vineyards stretching across the region of Doľany. Wines that are a perfect mirror of the terroir of Doľany are processed without any further refinement and reach their potential through natural maturing with no acceleration processes.
Magic of the charming mill...
The mill gate brings you to another century. Listen to the streamlet murmuring, take a look into the wooden barn, explore the mill itself. Beside the traditional mill technology, about which you can learn from the narrative of mr. Ervín Demovič, you can also find a folkish room from the 19th century. In 2010 the winery gained „Exemplary reconstrucion prize“ for its sensible approach to its reconstruction, which is awarded by Academia Istropolitana Nova. You will never forget the atmosphere of this place!
